Still reeling from the success of his Never Say Never Mixtape New York born rapper-singer Outasight follows it up with a 5 song EP. Figure 8 is a creative transgression from the norms in rap and R&B. OU’s clever lyrics serve as a perfect complement to the laid back harmonies and alternative beat selections. OU continues to demonstrates his mastery of the hook. Though he uses simple, catchy lines he pushes their meaning to gradually take on a complexity that the listener decodes further with each repeat listen. Laced with beats from Cook Classics, The Knox, and Matt Maxand this EP stands out among it’s peers.
