We are proud to offer for free the 2nd solo release from Ithaca, NY MC Jayhigh called:
A SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR THE DOWN AND OUT.
It’s a collection of mixtape-style recordings over commercial beats from producers such as Nicolay and Kev Brown, as well as some originals.
I wrote these songs during a time period between my days of CYPHER:DISSIDENT and joining my current band THE GUNPOETS.
I went to college, got married, and my music career was looking like it was done…
Despite this, my creative self wanted to go on even if I didn’t have money for beats and recording. I wanted to make a collection of songs to show that I could SURVIVE a lapse in creative purpose, financial strain, and loneliness. Hence the name, SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR THE DOWN AND OUT.
Survival Guide for the Down and Out is quintessential
Jayhigh:
Melancholy, Ugly, Unsure of itself, a Voice for those searching for the Bridge over the road to Anywhere…
Not for the critics, the radio, or for those who don’t understand the million levels of earnest, from the heart; Creative-Music. Hip-Hop, Poetry, with arms outstretched.
It’s Half-Yawn, Half-Molotov Cocktail. For YOU, not “U.”
What it is:
Embodiment of a Slippery Stepping Stone with feet planted.
