Release Notes:

Look Daggers is a collaboration band that combines the
musical direction of The Mars Volta keyboardist Ikey Owens
with the lyricism of Hip-Hop underground icon 2Mex, blending
rock and hip hop in a way that is unique to these two
musicians. Ikey Owens: The longest tenured member of The
Mars Volta, (named by Rolling Stones as the “Best
Progressive Rock Band” in 2008), Ikey has continually
recorded and performed with the band since their inception.
He was also a member of notable bands De Facto and the Long
Beach Dub All-Stars. 2Mex: Emerging from the historic Good
Life Cafe in Los Angeles in the early ’90s, 2Mex has since
released numerous albums as a solo artist and as a member of
the Visionaries. 2Mex is a favorite among hip-hop heads,
punk-rockers and music fans alike. Special Guests: Pablo
Hinojos-Gonzalez (The Mars Volta), Brent Hinds (Mastodon),
Marshall Goodman (Sublime/Long Beach Dub All-Stars), Pat
Bailey (The Breakestra), Ray Barbee, Ryland Steen (Reel Big
Fish), Stephan Hodges, Bob Forest (Thelonious Monster),
Existereo (Shapeshifters), Chris Clawson, Travis Laws, and
Mendee Ichikawa (Free Moral Agents). Both the CD and vinyl
(2xLP) come with the “Alive For Now In Long Beach” DVD: an
in-depth look at the pieces that make up the Look Daggers.
