The first single off Hakum’s “The Nu Dawn” LP, “YOU BE THE JUDGE!” puts the plight of political prisoners in America before the eyes of the general public. The song addresses the short and long-term goals of the FBI’s Counter-Intelligence Program, a program that identified Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Stokely Carmichael & Elijah Mohammed as messiah-type figures capable of unifying the people, and therefore, of “threat” to national security.
“You Be The Judge!” presents the case of an innocent man, also victim of the Counter-Intelligence Program, who was sentenced to 135 years in prison for sharing the same unifying, messiah-like qualities of his predecessors.

Na batalha desde 2003, o grupo vem se consolidando como um dos grupos de
maior destaque na cena nacional de rap alternativo. Se apresentando desde
então em diversos eventos na capital e em outros estados, o grupo chegou a
participar, por duas vezes do importante evento Indie Hip Hop, realizado
anualmente pelo SESC SP, abrindo shows para artistas internacionais de
renome, como Jurassic 5 e Pharoahe Monch.
Em novembro de 2007, o grupo lançou seu segundo álbum: SuperAção.
Embalado por uma atmosfera positiva, romântica e bem humorada, o disco é
uma prova de que ainda é possível fazer rap genuíno, expressando
sentimentos e vivências sinceras.
Ao ouvir as faixas, é notável o progresso de cada integrante como DJ, MC ou
produtor, a evolução musical do segundo disco em relação ao primeiro, bem
como a afirmação dos seis artistas como um grupo, afinal, eles conseguem
alinhar um discurso coeso – raro entre grupos de rap com muitos integrantes
durante mais de uma hora de harmonia.
A sonoridade uniforme, apesar da diversidade de estilo dos produtores que
trabalharam no disco, nos remete a estética que marcou o rap da década de
90, pelo uso de muitos samples e destaque para bumbos e caixas, o chamado
Boom Bap. O álbum conta ainda, com uma mixtape bônus, que traz as
participações especiais de diversos MCs e produtores da nova escola do Hip
Hop nacional.
O conjunto da obra faz de SuperAção, o disco de rap que todos sempre
quisemos ouvir: livre de clichês, com conteúdo musical e responsabilidade e
respeito nas letras. O que rendeu ao grupo o 4º lugar entre os 10 melhores
discos independentes de 2007, ao lado de grandes nomes da música como
Nação Zumbi, Autoramas e Hurtmold, em uma eleição realizada pelo site
Trama Virtual, que contou com a votação de influentes e importantes
jornalistas e produtores musicais do país.
Se o rap é música de protesto, prepare-se para ouvir um protesto puro e
verdadeiro, onde o discurso não difere da ação. Pois mesmo em meio às
dificuldades e diferentes influências musicais, o grupo é um dos poucos que
ainda se mantém fiel ao desafio de não diluir o rap.

JURASSICAMENTE CONTEMPORÂNEO é o nome do álbum que traz 14 faixas de peso
do coletivo “DRAGOES DE KOMODO”, desde 2009, formado pelos MC’s Indião e
Phantom (da dupla Andrômeda), Yob e Rodrigo Nonato (do grupo Oficina da Rima),
Zinho MC, Jah Dartanhan (vocalista da banda de reggae DaMata), e o DJ F-Zero
(criador do selo Material Corrosivo).
São 6 timbres diferentemente marcantes de voz, dominados por rimas com versos
positivos e muitas vezes amargos, complementados por scratchs agressivos e
sujos, retratando a realidade dos seres humanos sempre com objetivo de recriar
posturas.
Esta união pretende resgatar, com responsabilidade, o RAP OLD SCHOOL caracterizado
pelas batidas pesadas e por uma atitude ideológica proveniente das ruas, e mesclar
com os assuntos da atualidade fazendo uso de técnicas inovadoras.
DRAGÕES DE KOMODO foi propositalmente o nome escolhido para representar esta
ideologia, pois a idéia é que haja uma analogia entre o rap e o animal jurássico.
Da mesma forma que a saliva altamente tóxica dos Dragões de Komodo é capaz de
defendê-los de inimigos ou de matar em poucos segundos, sem que o dragão precise
lutar contra sua presa, as rimas dos DRAGOES DE KOMODO representam a “arma” que
defende ideais, ataca desigualdades e oprime os “inimigos”, representando por meio
do rap com pegada de rua, a resistência e a força de um povo que permanece fiel à
seus valores e raízes.
A TRAJETÓRIA do coletivo DRAGÕES DE KOMODO é recente, mas a de seus integrantes,
não. Phantom e Indiao, que formam o Andrômeda, fizeram parte do cd e DVD rotação 33
do DJ kljay (racionais mcs) e realizaram apresentações na Bahia, Rio de Janeiro,
São Paulo, Parana e Minas Gerais. Phantom também desenvolve seu vocal nos raggamuffins
que agitam a cena alternativa no dancehall. Indiao que alem de MC é o responsável pela
parte instrumental já fez beats para Criolo, Tabata Alves, Nocivo Shomon, Andromeda,
Oficina da rima, Terra Preta, entre outros. Juntos lançaram também a coletânea
Boca do lixo vol 01. Já O Grupo Oficina da rima acompanhou o Criolo em seus shows
durante muito tempo na versão MC+DJ. Dartanhan já vem de longa data se destacando em
diversas apresentações do circuito reggae, com a banda Da Mata. Além de Zinho e
DJ Fzero, que também consagraram seus trabalhos na cena underground.
O coletivo DRAGÕES DE KOMODO e seus integrantes já se apresentaram em lugares diversos
como Sesc Pompeia, Sesc Santana, Pelourinho (BA), Teatro Odisseia (RJ),
Pampulha (MG), Hole Club, Estação Music Bar, Club Ego, Inferno club, Executivo Bar,
Ginasio do Palmeiras, Ibirapuera, Centro Cultural da Juventude, Clube da Cidade, CCPC,
Tapas Club, Açao Educativa, Vale do Anhagabaú, Programa Manos e Minas, Central da
eriferia, entrevista para o jornal folha de S.Paulo, TV da gente, TVT, alem de diversas
outras casas, cidades e veículos de comunicação.
