DOnde el 7 y el 12 son los números claves en los que se reúne los fundamentos de esta serie. En representación de las 7 notas y 12 semitonos en una octava, así como los discos de 7” (singles/sencillos) y 12” (LP/larga duración).

De la misma forma cada volumen tiene una duración de entre 33.3 y 45 minutos a semejanza de la velocidad de rotación para los discos de 12” y 7” de 33.3 y 45 revoluciones por minuto, respectivamente. En ambos casos, los números actúan como una forma metafórica para describir la continuidad.

Those are “the magic numbers” that gathers the fundamentals of the music albums. The SEVEN and TWELVE represents the 7 notes & 12 semitones in an octave, as well as 7″ (singles) and 12″ (albums) records.

Every volume has a duration of 33.3 to 45 minutes, in resemblance of the 33.3 & 45 R.P.M. (rotational speed) used on vinyl records. In both cases, the numbers act as a metaphorical way to describe continuity.

The Fyre Dept, consisting of lifelong friends and musical cohorts Adam Deitch and Eric Krasno, have put together a collection of their hottest tracks that have been locked in the vaults of their Brooklyn studio for years. Deitch began the process of sampling countless musical heroes of his onto his Korg Triton keyboard about 10 years ago. After rearranging pieces of different records mixed with samples of his own drums and percussion, as well as adding basslines and efx, Kraz stepped in and added his masterful guitar playing, mixing and mastering skills, while coordinating and producing the guests that appear on this mixtape. This mixtape is edutainment, meaning that we encourage you to do research into the artists we sampled as well as the emcees & musicians that appear. This is also a homage to a style of Hip Hop music that we love. Enjoy the lost files.

Cale Sampson is a socially conscious hip hop artist from Toronto. In 2009, he was named the “Best Songwriter of the Year” by NOW Magazine for their annual “Best of T.O. edition. J-Bru started out DJ-ing in Ottawa where he hooked up with fellow Halifax MC Spesh K. This association got him hooked up with Classified who has produced a number of tracks for Bru, including about half of Identity Crisis. I’m not sure if it’s all the time he’s been spending with Class, but Bru’s lyrical approach is very similar to the “rappin’ everyman” steez of the more recent Class albums.
