Um disco múltiplo, como se batesse no liquidificador ritmos brasileiros e
universais com scratchs e samplers, sob a “lei” da liberdade musical,
amparada pela livre expressão típica do canto do rap, em variados tipos de
flow de um seleto grupo de MC’s de Belo Horizonte, na batuta dos beats de
um DJ que fez e faz parte da história da cultura Hip Hop e da música
eletrônica em Minas Gerais. Essa é a idéia do projeto Malucofonia, idealizado
e produzido pelo DJ Roger Dee, com a participação de artistas como
Julgamento, Renegado com o N.U.C., Shabê e Dokttor Bhu, MC Cubanito,
Luciano e Sérgio Pererê, Maurício PC (Divisão de Apoio), Ruibarbo e Matéria
Prima. “Malucofonia” Realizado através da lei estadual de
incentivo à cultura, com patrocínio da VIVO, o disco foi gravado com toda
qualidade que oferece o estúdio da banda Jota Quest. “Malucofonia” tem
produção musical de Roger Dee e do conceituado pianista Írio Júnior.
Composto por 11 faixas, o CD conta com a parceria e participação de artistas
da atual cena Hip Hop de Belo Horizonte. O selo Acla Music, criado por Roger
Dee, é responsável pelo lançamento, com produção executiva assinada por
Daniel Arthur Machado.

GP Wu (short for Gladiator Posse) was an American hip hop group consisting of four members, Pop da Brown Hornet, Down Low Recka, Rubbabandz and June Luve. The group formed in 1996 and were one of the many affiliates of the Wu-Tang Clan. All four members appeared on fellow Wu-Tang affiliate Shyheim’s first two albums 1994’s AKA the Rugged Child and 1996’s The Lost Generation, with their first official appearance as a group being on the track entitled “5 Elements” from the latter. The group released their first and only album Don’t Go Against the Grain in 1997 through MCA Records.

Bless’ The Blessed LP isn’t your average Southern California recording. The soulful, summery, and experimental sounds that we familiarize with other emerging South Central LA artists are replaced with a more tough and gritty style reminiscent of New York. Despite the contrast of style versus birth location, Escro brings a a form of tenacity and spunk that, in my opinion, is much needed in LA’s new progressive and sprightly hip hop circle.

As heard on standout cuts like Discovery, Bloody Suicide, Heaven’s Step, and Verbal Blessings, Bless Escro displays unlimited lyrical prowess and an intriguing style that bubbles well over EBO‘s brazen beats. On this unveiling, Bless shows that his recipe of south central strife and tales from LA’s underbelly is the perfect inverse to the electronic/bounce-bap spirit that surrounds the palm jungle.
