THIS IS NOT A FREE GRAB, but really it only costs $0.99. If your that cheap you have bigger issues than buying music! This was dropped off to us by “One of the STMB’ers”. I thought it was pretty funny and there are some nice beats on here. Either way, check it out, they are NOT AFFILIATED WITH STM… just their message board lol.
In the Land of the Blind, the One Eyed man is King.
Opening their eye’s to the truth after military deployments and life responsibilities trimmed the size of their Hip-Hop group from four to two, One Eyed Kings (Bravo One & Mr. Bostic) deliver their first manuscripts on life and reality in hopes to open the eyes of others as well.
In The Land of the Blind EP serves as O.E.K.’s introduction as the newest members in one of the country’s most vibrant music scenes-Denver. The lead single from the EP is “All Roads Lead Home” Ft. Hasan Salaam who is known for his own “eye opening” antics on FUSE TV. When Salaam won the “Hip Hop President” contest, he made a statement as bold as Kanye’s infamous “George Bush” speech about “Lobbyist, corporate conglomerates and their affiliation with news columnists.” Controversial Salaam is a perfect fit for One Eyed Kings two former service men who share the same quest.
Setting the tone right off the bat over the hypnotizing bass and piano loop, Hasan Salaam opens with “Home ain’t necessarily where you reside…” to start the explanation of the journey he and Bravo have taken to get to this point. Weaving through subjects such as abortion, loss of family members and eventually, rising from the flames.
California born and bred, One Eyed Kings have found a new home in Denver, and with the release of In The Land Of The Blind, standing next to the likes of Hasan Salaam, Es Nine (Prime Element), Rhias (Air Dubai) and Purpose (FBC), they’ve also found their place in Hip-Hop.

Emilio Lopez, a member of The Demigodz (Apathy, Celph Titled, Esoteric, Motive, Styles of Beyond, Chum Zilla), laces Fal’s classic laid backboom bap style with a witty and boastful presence, accentuating his disgust with the current state of hip hop and what he’s up to with your bitch.

Straight out of Greensboro, North Carolina comes a throwback duo made up of MCs Maf Maddix and Luse Kanz, known together as N’DangR Species. Ignoring the current fashion-fog surrounding mainstream and independent hip hop alike, Maf and Luse equip themselves with the pure and rugged style that wore out discmans in the 90s, while lacing contemporary beats from Flying Lotus, Oddisee, Devonwho, Samiyam, and more.

4,5,6 is the solo debut by hip hop artist Kool G Rap, released in September 1995 on Cold Chillin’ Records. The release followed his break-up with DJ Polo in 1993. The album was mostly received neutrally among critics, but was warmly accepted by underground fans. Despite the album’s dark, grimy street sound, it peaked at number one on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and also featured two crossover hits, with the title track “4,5,6”, and “Fast Life”. The album features guest appearances from B1, MF Grimm, and Nas (who also appeared on the front cover), as well as production from Dr. Butcher, Naughty Shorts, T-Ray, and Buckwild of D.I.T.C.

Return of the Boom Bap was KRS-One’s first official solo album, released in 1993 on the Jive Records label. It peaked on the Billboard 200 charts at position 37 on October 16, 1993. In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source’s 100 Best Rap Albums. The record was originally rated 4 mics in The Source in 1993. Unlike the majority of the Boogie Down Productions LP’s, KRS here takes a step back from the production duties and invites rising underground stars DJ Premier, Showbiz and Kid Capri to handle the beats in addition to his four contributions. The track “Black Cop” was originally released as a 12″ single and a track for the CB4 movie soundtrack, thus labeled as a B.D.P. track. This release says the song is produced by Pal Joey (who worked closely with Kris on the last two B.D.P. albums) and KRS-One. Wille D from Boogie Down Productions also makes an uncredited cameo as he join Kris on the mic as a guest rapper on “Slap Them Up”. It’s also very likely DJ Kenny Parker performs uncredited scratches and cuts on a few songs.
Take a walk down hip-hop memory lane with us as we kick off the first installment of Throwback Thursdaze. Doing this for the younger heads who missed out on all the ol’ skool ish (for whatever reason). Thought this would be a dope idea to give these new school cats some knowledge!
Dropping gems in a studio that’s nestled in between Bellingham Bay and Lummi Island is a new trip hop duo made up of producer Chance Random and folk singer-songwriter Jenni Potts, better known as Cute Attack. Their new self titled release, which is now available on Bandcamp with a name your own price tag, is a short, simple, and sweet ride through a lost and forgotten world of what I call therapeutic hip hop, known to many as trip hop.
Haunted by Jenni Potts’ vocals, Chance Random’s beats creep cautiously around her lyrics, but finds solace in her warm breath and embraces each note. The chemistry between the two is obvious, and while the length of the record might shock listeners the first go around, they will soon find the perfection in its editing and the beauty in its clarity.

Atlanta, Georgia spoken word poet/MC IZ-REAL will make your head spin. Combining a Breeze Brewinesque delivery with an electric mic presence, IZ’s tracks take numerous spins to absorb but will always buzz the brain the same. On The Izslickulus Package?, Iz connects with fellow weirdo MC Icky Slick to drop deviant rhymes over subterranean soundscapes from DJ Dredi.
Sidenote: For all you old underground heads reading this, does anyone get that same nostalgic feeling by listening to Iz-Real’s stuff? It could easily be mistaken for a late 90’s underground demo tape.

Yall might know him from his Grindtime battles, Here’s his free mixtape for the masses.
Los Angeles MC Anacron has just dropped the follow up to his 2009 Facelift remix project, Facelift 2: Artofficial Attributes. Miles beyond the typical hip-hop “mixtape,” Anacron employs his talents as a producer, instrumentalist, rapper, and singer to morph 12 previously crafted tunes into completely evolved (and revolved) interpretations.
From Robin Thicke to Toro Y Moi, Anacron’s remixes are infectious rather than pretentious. One of the few tasteful remix projects that you will hear– free of charge! Make sure to check out the first edition of Facelift, which is also available for free on Bandcamp.

FOE, Karma, and Yonnas Abraham are BLKHRTS, three of Denver, Colorado’s finest hip hop artist with flows as smooth as onyx stone and a sound that is way before its time. Combining a gothic ethos with loud, futuristic production, the BLKHRTS free EP, BLK S BTFL, is a moody body of work that will have your head nodding and heart pumping with intrigue.
With this release, the Denver trio has unabashedly pushed the envelope of what hip hop should sound like. This is an experiment gone right and if you open up your ears long enough, even you might find that BLK is BTFL too.
