There are very few emcees that are able to traverse those
unforgiving outer realms of creative bounds without fear
but among those courageous few stands the celebrated LA
emcee, Gajah (http://myspace.com/gajah). Ever since he
emerged on the scene in the mid 90’s as a founding member of
the seminal group Acid Reign, Gajah has astounded
underground hip hop audiences with his barbarous aural
assaults and choppy incantations from worlds unimagined. The
Missleaneous EP is his first release on Briefcase Rockers
It’s a short collection of the new sounds hes using as a
launchpad to tomorrow

After years of being overshadowed by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh left the Wailers to pursue a solo career. Released in 1976, Legalize It is a bold statement that Peter Tosh had arrived and was a creative force in his own right. Although he explores some issues of spirituality, this is Tosh’s most lightweight album in the sense that it is his least political. This is not meant as a criticism — in fact, Tosh’s playfulness and joy (“Ketchy Shuby”) only add to the album’s charm. He does make political statements (the title track celebrates and promotes the use of marijuana), but they are done with a sense of humor and a melodic infectiousness that belie his sincere concern for the issues. Tosh incorporates many instruments and mixes slower ballads with upbeat grooving tunes. The album’s highlight is “Why Must I Cry,” a multi-layered song (co-written with Bob Marley) that conveys a sense of personal failure when fighting an uphill battle, whether it be against injustices of the world or within the confines of a relationship. Legalize It cemented Tosh’s position as a giant in reggae, and the album is one of the best albums of the genre

Like Cole’s early trio, the Oscar Peterson Trio that first became popular featured piano, bass (Ray Brown), and guitar, most notably Herb Ellis. Cascades of many notes characterized Peterson’s playing. His earlier work, if often glib, was nevertheless invariably swinging.
Recorded in Los Angeles, CA, November 16, 1954
Oscar Peterson: Piano
Herb Hellis: Guitar
Ray Brown: Bass

Marco Polo & Ruste Juxx have combined forces to bring fans
a serious dose of hardcore Hip Hop. The eXXecution is
entirely produced by Marco Polo with Ruste Juxx providing
gut-wrenching vocals over heavy hitting drums.
Marco Polo explains that a simple studio session to play
beats turned into Ruste Juxx recording 9 songs. The joints
came out so crazy that we said lets turn this into a
full-length album. Working with Duck Down all these years
it was only a matter of time before Juxx and I got to a
specific project. The best part is the work happened
organically. Nothing was forced. Ruste came through, heard
beats, wrote, recordeddone deal. March 23rd is The
eXXecution!
Ruste Juxx describes the album as straight eXXecuting.
Im killing off wack MCs and Marcos murdering the
producers. I couldnt help but to write some killer shit
to the beats Marco made. If I wrote something wack to his
production, then its a wasted beat. I cant have that!
