So, I was listening to some of the beats here and I was wondering why Ant (dude on the left) never comes up when mentioning dope producers. Usually when I hear stuff about Atmosphere, it’s mostly hate on McNulty. So I upped some instrumentals to show why I enjoy dude’s music.

If it were up to me, this would be just an Ant post with more Felt 2 and Brother Ali beats, but they don’t have full instro LPs, so here we are.

Atmospheric Instrumentals

No idea where this came from, it’s all the tracks from these Lucy Ford instrumentals I was gonna post and then some extra 12″ instros.

Here’s a mixtape from one of the hardest working dudes in the game. Hailing from New York, 6th Sense was the first person to sign on to the Rawkus 50 movement. Brian Brater, CEO of Rawkus describes 6th Sense as someone who can “really spit, and he makes amazing beats. He’s a a jack of all trades kind of entertainer who is an all around likeable guy.”

You might have found 6th Sense playing keys on Snoop Dogg’s “Blue Carpet Treatment,” or maybe you found him in the lab with super producers Scram Jones and Frequency, collaborating on a song that will soon hit the charts. Maybe you found 6th Sense in the basement making beautiful Notherground Music with his co-horts Wildabeast or Jelani.

The point is, 6th Sense along with Mick Boogie have teamed up to bring you not just a mixtape, but a statement that demands artists to take chances with the music they make, and not just settle for the status quo…. Go For It!

Give the mixtape a listen, and maybe say a good word or two. We are trying to spread the link around so as many people download this wonderful music as possible. You’ll find music on this mixtape UNLIKE ANYTHING THAT IS OUT. To speak at length on exactly why would be pointless, it would be just as effective to simply check it out.

His new Rawkus 50 album, “It ‘s Coming Soon” is available in the iTunes Music Store, Amazon, and more.

For more, make sure to check out Here and Here

Blazay (MySpace here) sent me this instrumental EP…S.U.B. is a production crew based in Toronto, and this is an EP of their work, mostly interlude-length (i.e., a minute or two). A lot of tight shit on here, definitely give it a listen.

“Windmills of the Soul is one of the most soulful, musical and genuine independent
hip hop LPs in recent memory.” – Picadilly

Product Description
Often compared to the sounds of Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, and Common, Kero One
is a full time deejay, producer, rapper/songwriter, and record label owner based in
San Francisco. Kero got his start by releasing a 12″ called “Check the Blueprints” in
2003 on his own imprint “Plug Label” which was discovered by a Japanese label and
sold over 10,000 copies in the first year. Eventually, his music would lead him to
top underground Hip Hop sales charts, tours throughout Europe, Asia, and the US, as
well as music collaborations with the likes of Aloe Blacc (Stonesthrow), Grand Puba
(Brand Nubian), Abstract Rude, Lanu and Ohmega Watts (Ubiquity Records/Tru-thoughts).
By demand, Kero brings us the “Windmills of the Soul Instrumentals” album with all
vocals stripped and added bonus tracks “Space Cadets” & “Just Groovin.” The album
features heavy usage of live instrumentation that Kero One plays himself such as bass
guitar, Fender Rhodes keyboards, & moog synthesizers, as well as saxophones and
guitar from jazz/funk session players. However, not only are there jazz/funk
references on “Windmills”, there are also references to Brazilian styles such as on
“Windmills Beats” and soul references on tracks such as “In A Dream” which portrait
some of the different styles of music that influence Kero.

The Milkman – “Saturday Morning”
(192 kb/s)

Exactly what you think…instrumentals built from the themes and vocal samples from:
Ducktales, He-Man, Rocky & Bulwinkle, Captain Planet, Thundercats, Smurfs, Ren & Stimpy, Inspector Gadget, Underdog, Transformers, and more. I’d forgotten how dope that Underdog theme was…

Enjoy, and check out the man’s new blog, One Funk Blog.
