Inspired by Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest and Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Orlando, Florida rapper/producer Sku’FL loves to experiment with various sounds and ideas. On his debut album,Welcome to My Block: Where Nuttin’ Makes Sense, Sku’FL puts his experiments to the test. With a crock pot full of bugged out samples, southern spiced drums, electric keys, and poised poetics set on high heat, the unknown star of the Sunshine State has positioned himself to be the internet’s next big thing.
SkuF’L is The Cool Kids meets Hollyweerd meets the ‘Golden Era.’ Mostly due to the production, his debut is refreshing and cutting edge; easy to digest and sonically complex; a throwback nod and a head bangin’ tribute to the future. What doesn’t make sense is why his audience friendly music hasn’t been picked up by any of the bigger hip hop media outlets or their remoras. I guess the time has come.
Below is the link to the entire free album, as well as a few sample tracks. The entire album was Produced/Performed/Written/Arranged/Mix & Mastered by SkuF’L.

NOTES TO SELF hails from Toronto, the capital of Canadian hip hop. A collective as mature and talented as NOTES TO SELF is rare, especially in a genre often limited by trends lacking in originality. The Hip Hop juggernaut NOTES TO SELF features rappers Swamp Donkey and Roshin, producer/rapper Bronze One, world renowned DJ/turntablist DJ Dopey and writer/illustrator Elicser. For nine years NOTES TO SELF has successfully created a cohesive group dynamic reminiscent of traditional rap groups like De La Soul and Tha Liks.

Here is the 2nd leak from the upcoming Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz album, “Freedom Express Line” dropping August 31st on XOXO Records. The song “Believe This” represents Cymarshall Law and his participation in Hip Hop Culture, not doing it for the money or for all the material things, but to help expand the culture and keep it developing. Look out for the official music video for “Believe This” dropping next week!
I’ve been following the homie Munoz for around two years now. When I first heard him I thought he was nice but over the years he’s really been making me wonder if he’s actually Madlib’s long lost son or something! This project serves as a great introduction to Munoz’s music for the many who haven’t heard of this phenomenal young talent. It’s a compilation of some of our personal favorites from his previous albums dating back to when he was eleven and a handful of new/unreleased music to give a taste of things to come. Munoz will most definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years so do yourself a favor and get on board now! I can’t wait to hear what this guy sounds like when he can legally drive! LOL
Also be sure to peep his “Hypedog’s Underdogs” post for two more beats that aren’t on this project.

Stig Of The Dump is a people’s champ and multiple winner of the EOW freestyle battle championships. Regarded by many to be one of the sharpest emcees the Uk has to offer, his long-awaited second album, ‘Mood Swings’ is released in October 2010.
It was our pleasure to welcome him back onto the show to discuss the new project and be given the album in its entirety to select tracks to play on this 40 minute special.
More reflective and introspective than ever, Stig Of The Dump takes us on a journey through the concepts included within the LP, tackling such issues as UK hip hop supporters, arrogance and intelligence and being invited to Robbie Williams’ future wedding.
A do not miss broadcast for all uk hip hop heads and essential listening for those not familiar with the quality that our domestic scene has to offer
Enjoy!

DJ Serious has been on the Toronto scene since 1995 both in the studio as well as producing others material. The album opens of with a loungy intro wittily titled ‘Intro’. Next he is off into some ‘serious business’ showing his DJing skills right off the bat. It features Brass Munk and DJ Grouch and comes off being one of the hottest tracks on the album. He manages to keep the fun in hip hop and providing a community feeling in the Toronto area.

BrassMunk is a hip hop group formed in 1997 in Scarborough, Ontario. The group consists of musicians S-Roc, Clip, Agile and Reign. Brassmunk released a number of independent singles in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and released their first EP, Dark Sunrise, in 2002 on 54th/Virgin Music Canada. The following year, Dark Sunrise was rereleased worldwide on Battleaxe Records as an LP, and included their previous independent releases. “Dark Sunrise” was nominated for Best Rap Recording at the 2004 Juno Awards. Funny thing is my little cuzin used to tell me about his cousin(sroc) who was going to put out a rap album and that the group was called Brassmunk. Little did I know my cousin was actually telling the truth. One day I was watching Rap City on Much Music (Canadian Tv) and up popped a Brassmunk video by the name of El Dorado. El Dorado is a single off Dark Sunrise and is one of the illest on the album. Later they came out with the video for Big which also blew my mind. After calling my cousin a lier he later brought me this album sighned by the whole crew. Anyways now that im done droppin the knowledge check out some more Canadian hip hop and grab this album.
