Coming from the city of Go-Go, I’ve always loved production inspired by funk. when it comes to funk inspired hip hop, no body does it like the west. While I was on the west producing Trek Life’s album that inspiration went further than being a fan. I don’t know if it was the palm trees, beaches, or burgers but this is what I was making in LA.

LMNO of the Visionaries was live on Break Beats Radio (90.7 KPFK) this past weekend to showcase his latest music and update the world on what’s to come from LMNO. Hosted by Rebels To The Grain, LMNO went on to discuss his widely publicized “10 Pack” (10 albums in 2010), and amongst other things, his travels, his past, present and future.
Wu-Tang Saga is the ultimate documentary spanning over the last 2 years of the Wu-Tang Clan and over 9 Wu-Tang Clan concerts including the last 2 times, perhaps the last times, the whole Clan performed live together along with the infamous 8 diagram tour where the Shaolin Emcees rebelled against the abbott and went on tour without the Rza.
Also includes a tour of Staten Island, Exclusive Freestyles, album Photoshoots, a look inside the Wu-Tang tour buses, Wu-Tang 5% philosophies, album in store signings and more.
For once you will experience what is like to be part of the Clan. Narrated exclusively by the Clan themselves, this film stars Cappadonna, Raekwon, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Rza, Gza, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, U-God, Papa Wu, True Master, Prodigal Sunn, Allah Mathematics, 12 O’ Clock, Chi King, Slick Rick and more.
This film is over 2 hours and the DVD version also includes over a hour of bonus features including extended interviews, bonus performances, music videos and much more….
“This CD contains African and South American inspired music from around the world. It was construced for the first of Mochilla’s Timeless series on February 1st, 2009. I had the privilege of performing this set opening for Mulatu Astatke which was his very first Los Angeles appearance. I recorded the rehearsal using the best parts of multiple takes.
This live mix was performed using one Technics turntable, one Rane mixer, and a Boss RC50 loop pedal. Only original 7 inch and LP pressings were used.
Special thanks to everybody at Mochilla for having me part of this historic event. Shout outs to Egon and Quantic for the opening sets and ongoing inspiration.” — Cut Chemist

Few artists can combine uncomfortable with catchy; paranoiac with head-nodding; morbid with springy. Rapper, producer and Def Jux founder El-P knows how to get to parts of the brain others can’t. As a solo artist and frontman for seminal hip-hop group Company Flow or producer of Cannibal Ox, Cage, Mr. Lif, Aesop Rock, NIN, Beck, The Mars Volta (and many, many more), an El-P production can drive you to hide underneath the bed, punch a wall and nod your head all at the same time. Which brings us to Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3, the sort of, kind of but not really follow-up to his past two mixes of the same name previously released at live shows.
It’s another unique release in the artist’s catalog. In the tradition of Company Flow’s Little Johnny From The Hospitul (1998), El’s own Collecting The Kid (2005), and more recently Weareallgoingtoburninhellmeggamixxx2 (2007), Hell3 is a fully realized suite of instrumentals that continues to exemplify the producer’s versatile, otherworldly, futuristic and wholly original sonic worldview.
Hell3 both sounds similar to and nothing like anything you’ve heard before. “Drunk With a Loaded Pistol” starts off woozy and deranged before evolving into a warning alarm/drum attack. “Time Won’t Tell” opens as a soundtrack for the apocalypse followed by the layering of guitar-driven pop over boom-bap drums. As the album title implies, El-P creates a dark, dystopian sonic universe filled with ominous basslines and thumping, punishing drums.
This it one hot Mixtape from Montreal,Canada.

Hard to believe, but it’s been ten years since Citizen Kane (Scartown’s Finest) issued one of Canadian hip-hop’s most consistent end-to end long players in the form of Deliverance. Some classic T.O. shit for my peoples!
