The Chicago, IL-based Rhymefest first gained national
attention as the co-songwriter of Kanye West’s Grammy-
winning “Jesus Walks.” His association with West actually
went back several years prior; the MC’s independently
released Raw Dawg, issued in 2001, was produced entirely by
a pre-fame West. Later signed to Mark Ronson’s J Records-
distributed Allido label, Rhymefest put together Blue Collar
for a March 2006 release. Its first single, “Brand New,”
also featured production from West, as well as extensive
assistance from No I.D. (Common, G-Unit). The two remain
close friends today with Rhymefest recently returning from
Hawaii where they were collaborating on Kanye’s forthcoming
project. The new project from Rhymefest, entiteld El Che is
a smart urban hip hop record addressing contemporary issues
with strong melodic hooks. It’s a bit of a thowback with
live drums, horns, and guitar, bass and background vocals.

Im posting this because the re-release doesnt feature the tracks produced by DJ Mighty Mi.
After over a year of trying to work with Mighty Mi to take T.H.E. High Exhaulted off of iTunes and getting no where, Copywrite has finally erupted. Copywrite had approached Milo over a year ago about wanting to re-release his debut album since there was never a formal contract between the two he felt there would be no issue. Milo however felt differently and would not give Copywrite permission to include a couple of the tracks that Milo had done production for on the re-release. Copywrite accepted that but insisted that T.H.E High Exhaulted be taken down off of iTunes and anywhere else Milo might have it for sale. A year later Milo still has not done this. “Poorly Promote This” was born out of Copywrite’s frustration with how Milo and Eon handled the promotion of his first record and the recent chatter that has been heard about him re-releasing his classic debut.
Tokyo Dawn Records adds fourteen remixes ranging from dance to dub to Portformat’s highly successful debut album ‘The Repeat Factor’.

“The Wall Street Project” is a brand new concept album from Boston recording artist E The Real inspired by the classic 1987 film Wall Street by Oliver Stone. Wall Street’s influence expands across the globe as the heart of the business world and the mecca of capitalism. Our culture as we know it is completely influenced by the “big wigs” on Wall Street. Even though the original film was released in the 80’s, the ideas behind the film are more relevant today than ever before. With this project, E takes the idea of a “concept album” to a new level, breaking down the American business world and it’s influence on our culture with songs and skits based on scenes from the movie. Greed, competition, and loyalty are just a few of the themes that E touches on. In the Hip Hop world, artists are now business men and take on many responsibilities in order to succeed. E draws the connections between Hip-Hop and Wall Street through this groundbreaking album.
E The Real aka EtheReal Plains, is releasing “The Wall Street Project” on his hybrid label “Kinda Dusty” which he co-founded in the fall of 2009. The whole project is produced, designed, promoted, and financed exclusively by the Kinda Dusty team. In the modern age of music, E The Real embodies the “Do It Yourself” mentality utilizing cutting edge technologies while creating his own network and platform to promote the album. Production is handled by his crew including Paul Mighty (who also mixed the whole album), DJ Manipulator, and Frank The Butcher. Guest appearances on the microphone include Louie Gonz (formally known as Spit Supreme), Skivi B, and Timmy Wiggins of Cardboard City. Part of Los Angeles’ Heavyweights Crew, which included Freestyle Fellowship, Medusa, and Ganjah K, Volume 10 was part of the West Coast’s vibrant underground rap scene in the ’90s. Like many Los Angeles MCs, Volume 10 honed his skills during battles at the Good Life Cafe, but set himself apart as an MC able to balance both thuggish violent imagery and skill-heavy open mike styles. After a guest spot on Freestyle Fellowship’s Inner City Griots in 1993, he released his debut full-length, Hip-Hopera. The album spawned a hit single, Pistol Grip Pump, which would later be covered on Rage Against the Machine’s Renegades. 10 also appeared on the Project Blowed compilation in 1995, considered by many to be one of the underground’s defining moments.
