“In an era riddled with passing trends and cookie cutter artists Oakland California emcee Hiright walks his own path. Heartfelt rhymes flavored with insight, internal angst and raw lyrical flow over a palette of melancholy yet rhythm driven beats best describe this artists music. A fan of rap since the late eighties and die hard fan since the early nineties Hiright turned his passionate observation into being a part of the movement.
“My Inside” Hiright’s debut album is a reflection of a life diverse in experience and observation. From his upbringing in Hawaii to his current residency in Oakland, all giving him a well-rounded view on life, love, and the injustices we face in today’s society. The album features songs with Celsius 7 (Psychokinetics), Prozack Turner (Foreign Legion) and Jern-Eye (Lunar Heights).” More info here

Written and performed by ILLUS. Produced by J.J. Brown
“ILLUS has been recording music and illustrating comics professionally since 1991 (selling over 250,000 records with no airplay or major label deal), recording and touring with such legends as Chuck D and Public Enemy, DJ Johnny Juice, R.A. the Rugged Man, Dilated Peoples and Blackalicious, and garnering praise from the likes of Wendy Day and numerous HIPHOP legends. But he has reached a whole new level of excellence with his new album- FEEL GOOD MUSIC produced by J.J. Brown. Feel Good Music is a 7-song opus that displays the passion, soul and heart of the artist with a true feel-good HIPHOP vibe. ILLUS is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve as he raps about his love for his wife, family and friends as well as the microphone and the culture that inspired the man. FEEL GOOD MUSIC is more than just nostalgia or a dedication to all of the great HIPHOP pioneers, it is a true modern day classic that captures the essence of all that is good about HIPHOP music and brings it to light in the modern age.”

“Success is failure, failure is success those who quit never endup knowing whether they’ve succeeded or failed. Focus is key and determination is the way of triumph, even if your attemps have all lead to disapointment if your determination remains you will reach that which you seek. Dedication will determine whether your desire is genuine, Ethic must not be confused with enthusiasm, art has no place in buisness and buisness has no place in art. Those who really know don’t speak about it those who don’t know speak out loud boasting crowded.”
-Roach Uno-
This the full collection of tracks done over the last 2 years (I posted the ‘To Be Blunt’ ep in ’08) and includes the tracks off the ep I posted previously.
Blunt! is currently working on an ep with fellow mc Big Rob. The album should hopefully feature the one and only Cuban Pete if he ever pulls his finger out and writes a verse.

In 1994, the Cella Dwellas ( UG and Phantasm) signed to prominent hip hop label Loud Records, and released their debut single, “Land of the Lost” which showcased Ug’s lyrical skills, as he laid down a verse that is still regarded as classic. The following year, the duo made one of their earliest appearances on the Masta Ace Incorporated album Sittin’ on Chrome, featured on the track “4 Da Mind” which featured Phantasm’s version of a stellar verse. Also in 1995, the Dwellas released a pair of singles, “Good Dwellas” and “Perfect Match”, which were the duo’s only charting singles. “Land of the Lost”, a sequel to “Good Dwellas” and “Perfect Match” were included on the duo’s 1996 debut Realms ‘N Reality. The album was a moderate underground success, debuting at #160 on the Billboard 200 album chart, #21 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and #10 on the Heatseekers chart. The majority of the album was produced by Nick Wiz, and also featured beats from DJ Megahurtz, The Bluez Brothers and the duo themselves. The album received considerable acclaim from both critics and underground fans, due to its unique lyrical style and dark, atmospheric production.
