Dj Emoh Betta of Boston’s most celebrated turntablist crew, The Deck Demons, recently teamed up with the acclaimed, 20 year old Indy Hip Hop producer, Falside. After an afternoon of Pad Thai, caffiene, and brainstorming, they formulated “Meet’n Veggies”. This 5 track EP blends Falside’s instrumental elements with Dj Emoh’s intense technical skill on the decks.

The first official video from the new album, FEEL GOOD MUSIC by ILLUS and J.J. Brown
ILLUS has been recording music and illustrating comics professionally since 1991 (selling over 250,000 records with no airplay or major label deal), recording and touring with such legends as Chuck D and Public Enemy, DJ Johnny Juice, R.A. the Rugged Man, Dilated Peoples and Blackalicious, and garnering praise from the likes of Wendy Day and numerous HIPHOP legends. But he has reached a whole new level of excellence with his new album- FEEL GOOD MUSIC produced by J.J. Brown. Feel Good Music is a 7-song opus that displays the passion, soul and heart of the artist with a true feel-good HIPHOP vibe. ILLUS is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve as he raps about his love for his wife, family and friends as well as the microphone and the culture that inspired the man. FEEL GOOD MUSIC is more than just nostalgia or a dedication to all of the great HIPHOP pioneers, it is a true modern day classic that captures the essence of all that is good about HIPHOP music and brings it to light in the modern age.
Dramatic themes from the martial arts underground — a set of De Wolfe Sound Library tracks, all of which were used in Kung Fu films by the legendary Shaw Brothers! The work here is different than some other martial arts music you might know from the 70s — not originally penned and recorded for such films, but filled with more than enough weird touches and exotic moments to make the fit nicely! There’s less funk here than you might expect, but that lack is more than made up for with a rich array of strange sounds — stark horn bits, spacey effects, eerie melodies, and more — all mostly short tracks used as musical cues in the films, jumbled together here in a mad pastiche of sonic delights. The package is overflowing with goodies — over 70 minutes of music, and 43 tracks in all — used in films from 1975 through 1983 — but often recorded in earlier years.

“I recently found a bunch of old beat tapes (literally cassettes). I hadn’t
listened to any of that stuff in over 5/6 years and thought it would be cool to
digitalize them. All these beats are either not saved or past the point where i
would/could put them out. Included on these cassettes were the first beats I
ever made. They date back to around 94/95 before i even had a sampler of my
own. My homeboy Kasm (formally of the Atoms family) had just bought a MPC so
i would go over there with samples and we’d make beats. this continued till about
late 95 when i finally got my own sampler. While it was nice to have my own
equipment , the difference in quality between what I was doing and what Kasm
and I were doing was noticeable to say the least. in short, my solo beats
sucked…for a long time. Not realizing this at the time i recorded everything i made
and kept plugging away at it. it’s a good thing i did cause i’d very likely be working
some sh*tty minimum wage job had i not.
so, with that, i give you “throwaway files Vol. 1″. it’s 16 random beats i made
between 95-2003 that will never be used or heard in any other way. i chose these
16 randomly from about 175 tracks. the only one i picked specifically was the first
beat i ever made (with kasm). it’s pretty bad but still crazy to hear after all these
years. if you guys are into this kinda sh*t, lemme know and i’ll post more as this
blog progresses.
I just figured those of you who are into beats and the beat making process (nerds)
would be curious of how my beats have progressed over the years.
enjoy.”

Former Too Poetic DJ Freddie “Kaos” Cox recently, let it slip that there
was an unreleased album the group had submitted to Tommy Boy in 1989. its
called “Droppin Signal” produced by Too Poetic and Nate Tinsley & Here it
is for the first time ever on the Internet or anywhere outside of Wyandanch
and Tom Silverman’s file cabinet…
A word about Too Poetic: before founding the Gravediggaz with Prince Paul,
Frukwan and Rza, rapper Anthony “Poetic” Berkeley, a.k.a. Grym Reaper, was
a member of this Wyandanch trio, with dueling DJs Kaos and Woody Wood. The
group’s lone release was the 1989 Tommy Boy single featuring the house-y
“Poetical Terror” on the A-side, and the better known “God Makes Me Funky,”
co-produced by the late Paul C., on the flip.
In this interview, Fred/Kaos recalls the history of this short-lived but
memorable group, and his late partner Poetic, who died of colon cancer in 2001.

1. Enemy Nation featuring R.A. the Rugged Man, Chuck D and ILLUS- Rise of the Machines.
A very hungry mc/producer and independent musician. With group success already with Artists Over Industry where as an MC/Produce. Debut solo album entitled “I Have Arrived” dropping this summer. About 50% of this album was produced by Upstate NYs MikeiLL. He Mcs/Produces for his own group State Live from also Upstate NY. He offers a very “RAW” sound witch goes perfect with my harsh style. WindchILL is an in your face kinda MC and he makes those serious beats, its a beautiful blend. MikeiLL has 6 production credits on “I Have Arrived” and every one is worthy of a broken neck. Also another up coming legend in the game J.J. Brown produced the track called “Pay Homage” where they intertwine song titles and album names from your favorite hip hop artists into the rhymes. J.J. Brown along with his 5 G Platinum Productions crew have also Produced for the likes of Louis Logic, Apathy, Ludacris, The Lost Boys just to name a few. A hand full of other producers including Big Gard of A.O.I., Tempt(York PA), Breakbeat(NY) and Epic(HBG PA) round out the soundscapes. Oh and WindchILL produced a couple tracks too!! Guest Mcs though minimal are still on point. Inkwell of A.O.I., Apollos Sun, Phynite, and S.L. of Repeat Offenders does it for guest Mcs. One last treat on the album for you. She goes by the name LaDii J and her voice speaks for itself.
