Daily Chores consists of three conscious minded emcees who
deliver a message of maintaining a positive attitude through
the struggles of life. They draw inspiration from the balance
of life; both positive and negative experiences are reflected
through their tight delivery and truthful lyrics. Their song
styles vary from get the party jumping bangers such as “The one
and only” (The groups ode to Newcastle Brown Ale) and “The
Funk” to more relaxed and mellow tracks that help relieve the
stresses of the day such as: “It’s all good”, and “Don’t get
crazy”.
The majority of the production is done by WeeDee G who is a one
man band. His style is a mix of 70’s porno funk, Parliament
Funk, and spaced out synthesizer sounds that grab your ear and
keep your mind moving. He is influenced by 70’s funk, jazz
greats like Thelonious monk, and Early 90’s rap such as Digital
Underground and The Roots. WeeDee G is an Instrumentalist, he
plays live bass, guitar, keys, and drums, as well as turntables
and just about anything that can be considered an instrument.
The music provides the perfect background for the positive
lyrical picture painted by these three talented emcees. The
other two emcees are known as Dope Nutz and V-Tech the
Vocabulator. Dope Nutz is known for his innovative fast flows
and tight delivery. His influences are the same as WeeDeeGs as
well as Insane Clown posse and The Coup. V-Tech is recognized
by his smooth style and clever witty rhymes about life. His
influences include such various groups as Wu-Tang, and 90s bay
area Rap, all the way to Sage Francis and Atmosphere.
“Don’t Get Crazy” is the groups second release since the groups
conception in 2004. Daily Chores is the music of life as we
know it in this fast pace society which constantly throws us
new challenges and hard times. Clever topics, fresh
instrumental beats, impressive sales figures, and overall
originality make these guys a group to watch out for.

This young MC is half of the deadliest new duo G-Clef calls “the new Gangstarr”, Blakout. You may have heard Midaz on the Midaz vs Muggs mixed version of Gza’s last album, or you may have heard him on Beretta 9’s last mixtape, but either way, he is a lyrical force to be reckoned with. Beretta 9 and Raekwon guest star along with many others on this rugged journey through the many styles of this true emcee. Blakout member Nemo produces many of the tracks, even one is produced by Beretta 9 himself!

The Gospel is FREE is a statement directed at how some people use
the bible as a monetary platform, it also correlates with the sale
of mixtapes with copyrighted material (for example: Dj Drama). The
Gospel is FREE is a 15 track offering that is composed of freeverses,
freestyles, and songs. I am offering this mixtape as a free download
and eventually it will be available in CD form (for FREE). I would
love for you to share this mixtape with at least 3-5 people and if
you are willing to review it great (I am open for criticism). All I ask is that you listen
to the words. I would like to thank all the people that have been
supportive of the music so far, continue to support and help spread
the name.

Please be on the lookout for “The Center of Attention”, which will
drop digitally on Domination Recordings.

peace and blessings,
Praverb

In case you missed it when he posted it. This is Praverbs mixtape. The same Praverb you see running around the cbox. Show the brother some love. The mixtape is free, but you should support the cat when you can. Keep up the great work Praverb, cant wait to hear what you got in store for us through 2008!!!

As an activist, promoter, and MC, Oddity has brought a new breath of hope to the hip hop game and to all musical genres. With a gripping voice along with a unique style and a mind ripping delivery he brings a new sound to a monotonous genre. Bringing social awareness with fresh relevant lyrics and banging tracks, his debut album “Illegal Truth” knocks with a vengeance as his lyrics breathe life to hard-to-swallow reality, the struggle, hip hop and government conspiracies. After years of playing shows, freestyling on corners to working and writing with various artists, this project will give Oddity his long overdue shine. Tracks such as the heavy hitting “By Chaos They Reign” explore the dark side of politics war and religion through fierce word-play and a fist pumping hook, “By Chaos they reign, By Chaos they reign, But they will never gain control of my brain”. On the hard knocking “Money Money Money” Oddity and Gutter Water feature Castor Pollux make a mockery of the obsession of materialism and ego that mainstream hip hop displays, fueled by a funky joint produced by Dysposable Heroes. The album’s mood swings from funny, to cynical, to dark and then even darker, but maintains the integrity and intelligence that Oddity’s MC style personifies. Getting ready for an upcoming tour along the West Coast, it is time for the world to discover the Illegal Truth. .

Eternia is a female MC, a white female MC, I hate to mention that cause I never cared about “races” since we’re all people, but have you ever heard a dope white female MC before? I think I didn’t… She is from Canada and moved to New York 2 years ago. She released her critically acclaimed debut album called “It’s called life” back in ’05. It was a real personal album, she even included a short text about every track in the booklet, I always loved that, Kweli used to do it too. Since then she has experienced a lot, she was touring in the US, in Canada, Europe and Autralia. She just came back from a Tour in Europe with Reef the Lost Cauze, Pharoahe Monch and O.C. I’ve been to a show too, and it was crazy, she got a great energy on stage, I’d even go to a show to see her alone, no need for other headliners.

quote from Stig:

“I have an EP called The Homeless Microphonist which I recorded whilst sofa surfing, sleeping rough and living on the Foreign Beggars studio floor. I completed the whole creative process in 7 days as this sh*t is too easy for me, at 13 tracks its technically not an EP.. but who gives a ..”

Rough and ready hip-hop properly from the streets. Stig of the Dump has a rough battle-rap style with bits of humour and plenty of insults thrown in. If you like UK hip-hop but are getting a bit sick of the run-of-the-mill inner city London/ Manchester style then you won’t be disappointed with this.

Brand Nubian exploded onto the hip-hop scene with One for All (Elektra, 1990) — a full-blown rap opus that drew equal and immediate comparisons to the upbeat musicality of De La Soul and the gritty realness of Poor Righteous Teachers (whose members, like the Nubians, were members of the Nation of Islam’s Five Percent cypher). Fire in the Hole (Babygrande, 2004) is the group’s fifth album, and it brims with much of the funky bravado and pointed social commentary for which Brand Nubian has always been known. What’s different this time out, though, is Lord Jamar’s emergence as a seasoned producer with groove-driven instincts galore.

Having logged time as a Nubian with everyone from Diamond D to DJ Premier to the legendary Lord Finesse, Jamar has kept his eyes and ears open while gradually building up his studio chops. “I kind of grew into it,” he says, recalling the early days of working with Grand Puba — well before Brand Nubian had even come together as a group. “Puba kind of showed me how to sample and make beats. During our first album, I did a lot of hanging over people’s shoulders, you know, watching what was going on. For the second album, when Puba went to do his own solo thing, some people thought they were gonna take advantage of me and [Sadat] X by giving us some half-assed beats and trying to charge us a whole bunch of money. We were like, ‘Listen, for the price of one beat, we can get some equipment and do it ourselves.’ And that’s basically what we did.
