WORD People. Just got all this 40 Winks shit handled. Went to as many various sites as possible and got as many cuts as I could from the team, The Hit The Hay album was in 6 long MP3 Sections and I had to chop it up into the various Tracks… I guessed where I thought the end of the Tracks were and whatnot, and excluded some Tracks with Vocals and some other Interludes that were kind of boring. So, the track-listing on their website say’s 26 Tracks in total for that album, the way I chopped it there is only 18 Tracks in total, and I have NO IDEA which Tracks go with which names, so I’m not even going to try and guess. I’ll leave that up to y’all, unless 40 Winks is reading this?? You out there?? Hook us up with a Track-List for these… haaa. Anyway, the other Two Packages are ILL. April To July is a Full album and a few of the tracks on it are a whole bunch of dope rhythms within one track, so be on the lookout for that, and the Random Goods is a whole bunch of exactly that, with some Snippets from other albums… GET ALL OF THESE PEOPLE. These two Fools are swiftly rising on my favorite producers list. They DOMINATE the xylophone & horns, some REAL laid back shit… And they’re from Fucking Antwerp, Belgium?!? 40 Winks will put you to sleep, Especially the Hit The Hay album… I’m not going to put up any Track-Lists for these, I figure everybody gets all the Track names in the .Zip’s anyway, and a whole bunch of Track-Listings takes up so much space in one post it pushes everybody elses posts all down into the Grave and shit… I’m not down with that. Anyway, here it be, OH, some Ratatat too. They’re an alright team, nothin ultra special, cool for some high paced Guitar shit (Gettysburg is a fuckin ILL cut). And I’ve noticed that the Ladies love they’re shit, and that always works out when you can roll somewhere with your Chica and not have to worry about the Trick puttin on some Dummy Radio Shit… PEACE.

Musical genius (my opinion) Kanye West has to sample from somewhere. The man is not very subtle in his jacking however, and I found this to be pretty interesting. However unoriginal, you can’t blame the man for making dope-ass music. I suggest you check this out, get a feel for how a big name in the business samples as well as just to listen to some good songs. Also, multiple people in the c-box over there had mentioned sampled songs. (We did a little of this as a collective blog team, but it died down some. Variety is good.) Kanye may not chop the song up very well, but he picks some damn good ones to use. This mix is done by A-Trak (Kanye’s DJ); Recommended, check this one out definitely.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, I looked into how to set up a forum and how it works. Me and my minimum knowledge of HTML and .php scripts and all that ish was not able to figure it out completely. If anyone’s interested in helping set that up, that would be great. It seems like we need it, just to organize requests, dead links/re-ups, recommendations, all that stuff. Enjoy the music everyone!

Y’all know France’s IAM by now. Their musical architect, as they like to call him, is Imhotep, also known as Kif Kif, Tonton, or simply Pascal. A producer who’s written history with the vast majority of beats he’s made for IAM since they came into being around the early 90s, but he’s behind a lot more than just that. From other hip-hop and reggae groups to movie scores and whatnot else, Imhotep holds it all down, following his fascination for music, for sounds, for atmospheres caught onto records.
This album is not an instrumental version of a hip-hop album, as one might expect, but it’s the result of Imhotep’s exploration of the sounds, vibes and voices he captured while roaming through Morocco. It just shows that the man is bigger than any individual music genre. So, if KRS is hip-hop, Imhotep IS music. A great aural adventure through Northern Africa.

Solid producer, his work hasn’t been showing up recently (atleast that I’m aware of)…He used to do beats with Rawkus pretty frequently, but has worked with everyone from G-Unit to Ghostface, he also did Mos Def’s “Ms. Fat Booty”…
I have both of his instrumental cds, “Listen” and “Now Playing“, and his new one entitled “Louder” is coming out in…July? I think.
Dude’s very underrated, he never seems to get his due. The point is, check these out; you won’t regret it.

I basically was on a Movie Binge because after that I got down with one of the Best Flicks of all time… KIDS. If you ain’t seen it, your asleep… Anyway, ILL Flick with an ILL soundtrack, soooo many CLASSIC Instrumentals playin in the Background throughout that movie. First time I heard Crooklyn Dodgers. First Time I heard Wrong Side Of Da Tracks. Pure Classic. Too bad they weren’t included in the actual soundtrack… But, this track was included on the other hand. And it’s FUCKIN DOPE. It’s entitled Jenny’s Theme, it’s the cut that’s playin when they’re all walkin down the middle of the street Posse style, that fool Harold is skatin ahead. The scene that’s on the cover. Anyway, it’s in the movie a few other times, you’ll recognize it people… Such a chilling jam, reminds me of Executioner Style from Kool G Rap on 4,5,6… The Drums at least. GET THIS TRACK!!

This Disc is Fuckin Ill, I’ve had it on Loop since I got it, listen to the track “Sledgehammer” and you’ll see what I’m talkin about… I HIGHLY recommend pickin this up, I gurantee you won’t find too many discs or artists out there with a similar sound, cause this Dude was on some original shit when he dropped this.
