After years of slaving in the studio, producer NAIK (Nature And Its Killers) is finally set to unleash his debut album ‘In The Shadow Of Thunder Mountain’ upon us. An exotic blend of psychedelic guitars, twisted samples, booming synths and crunchy beats, this release is set to knock socks straight off.
With foundations in sample based music, this first offering from NAIK takes the musical collage concept one step further. The addition of live instrumentation and progressive song structures has seen Naik forge his way into uncharted territory with this release, developing a unique sound that owes as much to psych-rock as it does to hip-hop.

I know alot of DJs have been doing Guru tributes… which is dope, but this is 2 hours of music… from 1988, thru his history including Jazzmattazz Vol 1-3, to the end of the Gangstarr days. I covered what i feel was truly Gurus greatest work. this includes unreleased music, the b-sides, remixes, etc. i also had Big Shug, Doo-Wop, Freddie Foxx, Consequence, and Chubby Chub call in and leave some Guru Memories. he was an icon to me, as well as a friend, and i definitely wouldn’t be who i am without the presence of Gangstarr’s music in my life growing up. – Statik

This album was proof that Bay Area underground rap was still alive in early 96′.
1996, Nutt-So (Keyshia Cole’s older brother) signed 2 Death Row after a deal with Snake Pit Records & his group “StreeThugs”.
He recorded a lot of songs durin tha summer featuring 2Pac (who prepared One Nation)
or MC Hammer who recorded his album (June 96).
Dees summer wuz marked by the Death Row East project with Pac, Big Daddy Kane…
He left Death Row after 2Pac’ death.

“So, recently I dusted off my “DJ skills” (if that’s what you wanna’ call em..) and compiled and mixed some of my favorite tracks from the past month (March), along with a few instrumental excerpts from years past (i.e, Black Milk’s “Luvin’ It” and Flying Lotus “Massage Situation”). Hence, we’ve arrived at what is going to be a continual series, Bloggerhouse’s “Monthly” mixtape.
First things first, a big thanks to St. Mic for the final mastering of the mixtape (stop sleepin’ on “Honest Music”) and overall “tidying up”. I really enjoyed doing this and next month’s (or rather, April’s) mixtape will have equal musical contributions from both Dart and Trav. As for our first edition I got bored one night and just “ran with it”, for lack of better wording, I even surprised myself a bit. All of what you’re hearing on this go ’round is strictly my musical selections (so send all customer complaints in my direction). Trav and Dart’s contributions for April’s edition will all be compiled from our “Most Played” series we usually conduct on a weekly basis, which I’m just as amped about finishing up.
As you can see from the tracklisting, this mixtape contains a little bit of everything (from Elzhi to Flying Lotus to Ruste Juxx). So, check it out, leave a comment (good or bad) and enjoy!!!”

DJ Swindle and Jon Moskowitz beautifully execute one of the hottest
concept mixes we’ve seen around: Mobb Deep versus Bob Marley aka.
Bobb Deep. This creative creation combines two of the more unlikely of
collaborations and blends, remixes, mashes and re-produces this Instant
Vintage mixtape blending the Queensbridge hip-hop duo with the Legend.
